Jay Zises
Jay Zises is an investor, philanthropist, and New York City native. For decades, he has supported nonprofit organizations in New York and elsewhere, through generous donations and volunteer work. Jay Zises was a founding member of Housing Enterprise for the Less Privileged, or HELP, in the 1980s, and has served as a board member as well. He has been the Chairman for the American Israeli Education Fund and the American Friends of the Jonathan Institute since their inception, and previously chaired American Friends of the Israeli Defense Force and United Jewish Appeal, where he led a 1986 fundraising campaign. Mr. Zises donates to the American Red Cross, several New York City hospitals, Susan G. Jay Zises got his start in the world of finance after receiving his Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and History from New York University. A few years after he graduated NYU, he joined Integrated Resources, a financial company. Over the course of his twenty-year career with Integrated Resources, Jay Zises became Chairman of the Executive Committee, providing syndications (securities bundles) and large-scale life insurance plans to business and institutional clients.
In 1991, Jay Zises was a founding member of A Cap, Inc., an investment company. Currently serving as Chairman, he manages portfolios for clients of high net worth, and invests in promising ventures. Mr. Zises focuses his investments through A Cap on young entrepreneurs with good ideas. Several investments have subsequently received institutional investment from elsewhere. These include UniRush, a debit card company that was recently purchased in part by the Carlyle Group, and “Small World Sports,” a brand that was later purchased by billionaire Paul Allen.
