"Bishop was a good man. Have known him for more than half of my life," said Green Jackson Jr., Elder at Good Samaritan Westside Community Church.

Daniels ordained Green Jackson. He says Daniels was an icon. "You can&#x;t fill the shoes of the man of character as Bishop Daniels. So he taught us to be who we are, to continue to strive for excellence, and to continue to seek knowledge. And that&#x;s what we all should continue to do."

Church members, elders and elected leaders celebrated Daniels, his contributions to the church, feeding the hungry, giving people homes, and educating children.

"He wasn&#x;t afraid to challenge the challenges and he stood on his faith," said Sherry Hill. "He loved people. He called us the love congregation, because whether you were a member or not, you were embraced with love."

That love spread across the country.

"Bishop Daniels was the trainer of my bishops class when I became a bishop in the Church of god in Christ," said Rev. Darin Burns.

Darin Burns has a congregation outside Detroit, and he says he's still struggling with knowing Daniels is gone. "The difference between a legend and legacy is legends, they die. But legacy lives," he added.

"He will truly, truly be missed," said Michelle Pitts, a longtime friend of Bishop Daniels.

"He loved children, he loved the elderly, he loved his church, he loved his family. If he didn&#x;t care for you, you never knew it because he shared so much love," Pitts said.

Daniels was not only known for being the bishop at Milwaukee's Holy Redeemer Institutional Church of God in Christ, he also helped found a school, a senior living center and even opened a health clinic.
